40 kitchen swing door hardware
I have a swinging door between my kitchen/dining room. I need a simple latch/locking mechanism to be able to keep it from opening either direction. (we have a couple dogs and like to separate them, and I think they wised up on being able to open the door finally.) So far I've only seen really high end stuff that seems to be marketed to Saudi racehorse owners who are rebuilding their stables. I know it's a specialty item, but surely there is a kit out there for less than a grand...
We need to temporarily remove this kitchen door to fit a fridge into the kitchen but can't figure out how to do it without permanently damaging it. Any ideas? https://imgur.com/a/Rwz3KQY

Hi everyone, I'm in the process of starting my own business, taking on jobs I estimate, and learning what exactly to charge people what. ​ I have been repainting kitchen cabinets for a couple, and initially discussing it, they were planning on rehanging the cabinets doors themselves with the old hardware, so I brought my price down obviously on the painting. They just asked me today if I would install the new hardware and remount the doors, and I said yes. So I'm asking you all ... Edited to add this update. Thanks for the suggestions everyone! While a spring/auto close hinge would have been the more beautiful solution, they don't seem to make them in the same size and screw pattern as ours and we didn't want to mess with all of that. Decided to try an awesome and creative solution mentioned below by u/zugunrhue and have success! I used a water bottle as the weight so I could play around with how much water was in it to weight it perfectly to close but not slam. I covered ... Wasn’t sure who to ask about my problem here but figured this sub may be the place to go. I’ve been trying to hang an arial yoga swing all day today but I just can’t get the hardware to lie flat on my ceiling. Neither of the bolts will drill in straight and they get to a certain point and then just won’t go in any further. I’m really getting frustrated because I found the joist to drill into, made large enough pilot holes (deep enough too) but I just can’t seem to get this to work. My temporary ...
